The University of Saint Louis (USL) has produced two national first placers in licensure examinations administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in Oct. and Nov. of this year.
Jackson C. Apostol topped the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination in Oct. with a rating of 93.86 percent. USL’s overall passing performance in said board exam was 75.47 percent against the national 40.84 percent.
Apostol graduated the degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in April 2013 with Academic Distinction.
Bilyson D. Alejo, who graduated Magna Cum Laude in the course Bachelor in Library and Information Science (BLIS) in April 2013, earned first place in the Nov. 2013 Librarian Licensure Examination with a rating of 88.05 percent. Apostol is the second CPA national topnotcher USL has produced, following the feat of Richie Jackson T. Padilla, the national topnotcher in the CPA board exam in 2008.
Alejo, on the other hand, is the first Louisian Librarian topnotcher. He is one of the pioneer graduates of the University’s BLIS program.
To date, USL has produced 7 first placers in the following programs with board examinations: Geodetic Engineering – Engr. Sonny M. Mateo (2011), Engr. Nazario G. Galang (1999), and Engr. Fernando R. Verbo (1993); Electronics and Communications Engineering – Engr. Victoriano C. Abana (2006); Accountancy – Jackson C. Apostol (2013) and Richie Jackson T. Padilla (2008); and Library and Information Science – Bilyson D. Alejo (2013).
